2009 Summer Camp
COMING THIS SUMMER!!!
CTW is presenting its first ever Musical Theater Summer Camp. Join us for a fun-filled adventure and participate in four exciting sessions from June 22 - August 14, 2009. You must be entering grade 3-12 in the fall of 2009. There will be two groups; Grades 3-6 and Grades 7-12.
Campers will learn various theater techniques during the first week of session. The second week they will incorporate the techniques into a full length production and perform for family and friends on Friday.
Session #1 June 22 - July 3
School House Rock Live, Jr.
A pop culture phenomenon comes to the musical stage! Tom, a nerve-wracked school teacher nervous about his first day of teaching, tries to relax by watching TV when various characters representing facets of his personality emerge from the set and show him how to win his students over with imagination and music, through such beloved Schoolhouse Rock songs as "Just A Bill", "Lolly, Lolly, Lolly" and "Conjunction Junction". Join us for a fun-filled session that is not only entertaining but educational as well!
Session #2 July 6 - July 17
Charlotte's Web (Non-Musical)
This classic story of loyalty, trust, and sacrifice comes to life on stage. Fern is one of only two living beings who sees that Wilbur is a special animal as she raises him, the runt of the litter, into a terrific and radiant pig. As Wilbur moves into a new barn, he begins a second profound friendship with the most unlikely of creatures--a spider named Charlotte--and their bond inspires the animals around them to come together as a family. When the word gets out that Wilbur's days are numbered, it seems that only a miracle will save his life. A determined Charlotte--who sees miracles in the ordinary--spins words into her web in an effort to convince the farmer that Wilbur is "Some Pig" and worth saving. Join us for our only non-musical production this summer and find out what happens to Wilbur & Charlotte.

Tom Sawyer - The Musical
Tom Sawyer! What do you do with a boy like that! This American Literature musical adaption of the Mark Twain classic has been a favorite for generations! Come enjoy the escapades of Tom, Huck, and Becky as they portray life along the Mississippi. Full of boyhood mischief, Tom's pranks and high-spirited exploration land him in trouble--with white washing the fence as due punishment--and in danger, as he witnesses an unimaginable crime. Sing and dance along with Tom and the rest of the gang to songs such as "Paint the Town", "Money, Money, Money", and "Pirate's Life for Me".
Session #4 August 3 - August 14
The Best of Broadway
Celebrate some of Broadway's most beloved show tunes! During this session, students will learn all aspects of the theater from directing to choreographing to technical, such as light and sound. Students will be put into groups and have a chance to direct and perform a Broadway song of their choice. From classic shows to the hottest tickets on Broadway today, take a musical journey down the most famous street in the world with some of the most glorious music ever written. Don't miss this opportunity to showcase your talent!
Camp to be held from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Gulf Coast Christian Fellowship located at 1915 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers (corner of U.S. 41 and Colonial Boulevard). Early drop-off and late pick-up is available for an extra charge of $10 each (drop-off or pick-up) per week.
Each 2 Week Session: $250.00
CTW Members (must have participated in at least 2 CTW shows): $225.00
50% deposit is required to pre-register. Space is limited and is on a first come basis. Full payment due at start of each camp session. Refunds available until one week prior to start of session.
